Special Shuffle Course

From pangya.wiki

Special Shuffle Course, or simply Special Shuffle or SSC for short, is a Tournament mode variant where a random set of holes from all Pangya Island courses are selected for the game. A unique "Special Shuffle" hole is used for the 18th hole where players will have an opportunity to earn a large amount of Pang as well as getting a reward for completing the game. The reward at the end is higher the more players there are in the SSC game.

SSC rooms are differentiated from the normal Tournaments by their darker purple color. Any player can join an open SSC room; however, unlike normal Tournaments, players are not allowed to join a SSC room that is in progress.

About Special Shuffle Course

Unlike a normal tournament, SSC rooms are not created freely. To create a SSC room, a Special Shuffle Ticket is needed. These SSC Tickets can be obtained from random holes for any course in Versus or Tournament mode, by leveling up certain levels, as well as from events that have them as prizes. One SSC Ticket is used upon creation of the room and is not returnable. All players are allowed to join any open SSC room.

In SSC, 17 random holes from all courses on Pangya Island are taken and placed in a random order for the game ("Shuffle"). As an example, this means it is entirely possible to start with Blue Lagoon Hole 9 and move to Deep Inferno Hole 7 and then to Deep Inferno Hole 18 and so forth. It is not possible to view what the next hole will be ahead of time.

An exclusive "Special Shuffle" hole will always be used for the 18th hole. This hole, upon the Comet landing in the cup, will reward the player with a Pang Pouch that contains a random amount of Pang.

After the SSC room is completely finished, the creator of the room (assuming they are still in the room) will receive Special Shuffle Coins; the amount of coins received is dependent on how many players joined the game initially and how many players stayed until the end. These Special Shuffle Coins can be exchanged in Cadie's Cauldron for Partial Scratchy Cards.

Special Shuffle Hole, Variant 1
Special Shuffle Hole, Variant 2

The Special Shuffle hole is a stand-alone hole specific to SSC. There are only two different variants so far for the Special Shuffle hole, both are Par 4.

Hole Out Pang

As a special hole, the Special Shuffle hole has its own set of Hole Out conditions as well as the Hole Out Pang earned. The amount earned is the same for both normal play and Natural Mode.

Special Shuffle - Par 4
Hole In One 800
Eagle 600
Birdie 400
Par 200
Over Par 100

Pang Pouch

Upon successfully landing the Comet in the cup, players will receive a Pang Pouch that contains a random amount of Pang. You cannot receive this Pang Pouch if you get a Give Up. The minimum amount of Pang in the Pang Pouch is dependent on the number of players in the game.

Players also have an opportunity for a jackpot; these jackpots only appear if the room has more than 20 players at the start, with a bigger chance at getting the jackpot and a bigger jackpot the more players there are in the room. If a player receives a jackpot, a global red message is displayed in the chat box that can be seen by everybody in the room.

Additional notes

Room creation

  • Default room settings cannot be changed: 30 minutes, 30 people maximum, Random course selection, Shuffle hole order (Shuffle Bonus is not applied).
  • The room's name and password can only be changed before creating the room; once the room is created, these cannot be changed.
  • If the room creator leaves the room before the game begins, everybody in the room is immediately kicked out and the SSC room disappears.
  • Other players cannot join a SSC room that is in progress.
  • Artifacts cannot be used for SSC games.

Gameplay mechanics

  • While playing SSC, the club set used gets 1.5x more Mastery Points earned for every hole cleared than normal games.
  • Treasure Point gained is inverted in SSC: you gain more Treasure Points by getting bad scores than good scores.
  • No records are saved while playing in SSC (including any Hole In One or Albatross made). However, records will still count towards achievements.
  • No experience points are earned upon finishing. If you carry any Passive Items that increase EXP, they will not be consumed when the game finishes.
  • During events, unless specified by the event, the Special Shuffle hole is treated like the Ice Inferno course.

Items

  • Replay Tapes are not usable.
  • Tiki Report Scrolls are not usable.

Glitches

  • When selecting Short Game mode on the Tournament tab and then switching to the SSC tab to create the room, the SSC room can be played Short Game style instead.
