Tournament is a game mode allowing 4-30 players to simultaneously play a course at the same time.
Overview
Tournaments come in three different modes: Tourney, Short Game, and Guild Battle. Short Game replaced Team mode at the start of the Pangya Fresh Up season.
Tournaments can be 9 or 18 holes using Front, Back (only for 9-holes), Random (only for 9-holes) and Shuffle hole order. A minimum of 4 players is needed to begin any tournament game. Players can also set the room with a password to "private" the room and prevent other players to enter the room unless the password is typed.
Unlike Versus mode, there is no shot time limit; instead, tournament mode has a time limit to finish. Each hole that is incomplete when the time limit up is counted as a Give Up and adds a +5 for each hole to the total score in the end. If a player finishes a tournament before the time limit, the player has an option to use a Tiki Report Scroll to leave the room earlier and receive the results of the tournament later.
In progress
If a Tournament is not private, not full, and has been running for less than 5 minutes (9 holes) or 10 minutes (18 holes), other players can join a tournament that is in progress. The player's level can affect the level of the Tournament.
Players finishing a tournament before others will be taken to a "waiting room" where they may chat and view other players' progress. They may also view the profiles and score cards (of that tournament) of the other players. Players may also leave at this point by using a Tiki Report Scroll and view the results later (except in Guild Battle mode). If no Tiki Report Scrolls are available, the players will need to remain in the waiting room until time finishes up or if all players complete the tournament, whichever happens first.
If a player chooses to remain until the tournament's end, they will see the results screen and then return to the room lobby.
Trophy and Special Medals
When the room has a minimum of 10 players (for 18 holes) or 15 players (for 9 holes), the reward for scoring among the highest in a tournament is a trophy. Tournaments are given a level based off the average level of its participants, and this affects the level of trophy given. The more players that are in a game, the more trophies are awarded. Players that win a trophy also get a free common Active Item as a prize.
When the room has a minimum of 18 players, a tournament also gives a number of Special Medals. These medals are Passive Items that can be collected and exchanged in Cadie's Cauldron for limited-time clothing item that grant special effects in Lounges when worn.
