In July 2009, Pangya Season 4: Delight was introduced, replacing Pangya Season 3: Revolution as the new season. Pirates and treasure hunting were the motifs for the season.

Season 4: Delight was the first season in North America to title the game series by its official "Pangya" name, changing from its former title "Albatross18". Along with the title name change, numerous other in-game names and references have been modified to coincide with the new Pangya season title. This article will not discuss these modifications.

An official trailer was shown introducing the season. The name of the song used was Zero Fill Love, sung by ESTi.

Pangya Season 4: Delight was updated to an extended season called Pangya Season 4.5: Delight in late December 2010. Pangya Season 4/4.5: Delight ended in April 2011 when Pangya United was introduced.

Season introduction features

Lucia

Lucia was the 9th playable character introduced to Pangya. She was a pop idol whose stunning singing and dancing made her popular in the market. Lucia might be a bit snappy, but her catch phrases captured the hearts of her fans.

Lost Seaway

Lost Seaway was the 16th course introduced to Pangya. Taking place in the Oriens region, Lost Seaway was a popular place for pirates who sought treasure and riches. The course also had an ancient history with the battle between the Demon King and the nameless hero of Pangya Island.

My Room expansion

My Room was expanded to allow players to customize their rooms with room decorations. Players were also allowed to visit other players' rooms through their profile. Should the player want to not allow visitors, rooms could be locked by setting a password.

Treasure Gauge

Treasure Gauge allowed players to receive small rewards and potentially rare ("treasure") items in the form of treasure boxes after completing a game. Treasure Gauge was utilized in Versus and Tournament game modes. Players had a meter to keep track of Treasure Points earned for a game. More Treasure Points were earned the better the score a player got for a hole. The more the Treasure Points meter was filled, the more treasure boxes earned at the end of the game.

Revamped Approach mode

Approach mode was revamped to utilize the new Treasure Gauge system. In the new Approach mode, players played 3, 6 or 9 holes where players aimed for the top to earn treasure boxes. Approach mode also offered a mission system where players could also clear goals specified to earn more treasure boxes other than reaching to the top. Missions varied from individual missions where players needed to clear on their own to team missions where players must work together to complete.

Replay Tapes

The Replay Tape option gave the option to players to save replays of a shot or a hole to be viewed later in My Room. Replay Tapes were Passive Items that were obtainable in the Pangya Shop and in various other locations and were required to allowed saving a replay. Each time after a shot was performed, by pressing the 'R' key on the keyboard before the next shot was set up, the replay was saved. A maximum of 10 replays could be saved at any time.

Course difficulty adjustment

All courses were adjusted in difficulty from to a 5-star system, as opposed to the old 3-star. In addition, EXP had been increased in Versus mode.

No fail Special Shots

All Special Shots was able to be executed even if the player failed to hit Pangya. However, when the player failed to hit Pangya, the Special Shot's flight path became erratic.

Match player button

A button was added in the lobby to allow players to find players to play with whose levels were equivalent to their own.

Notable later updates

Card Holic

A new Card Holic system was added that allowed players to insert cards to clothing outfits or used instantly to enhance the character's abilities. Cards were separated into three types and clothing items only allowed certain cards to be placed on it. When the clothing was worn, the effect could be seen in-game.

Only one volume was introduced which contained a set of 41 cards. Card Packs were obtainable in the Pangya Shop as single individual packs or as a 10+1 set.

Gacha

Gacha system was an additional lottery system added that gave away exclusive rare items in the game. The Gacha menu was played in an external interface that was accessed in game.

Players could only play Gacha by spending Points for Gacha Coins, individually or as part of a packaged deal. When playing, each coin spent would reveal one item that could either be common or rare. Gacha was periodically updated and new items were introduced depending on the update.

Ghost Mode

In Ghost Mode, players were allowed to play against other players' past playthrough of a course. Ghost Mode was accessed by clicking on the button on a player's profile.

Ghost Mode's gameplay flow was identical to a Versus game except when it was the "ghost's" turn, the ghost would automatically shoot on each of their shots. After the game was finished, during the results screen, players could click on a Pang Pouch that would distribute more Pang the more the players clicked on it.

Motion items

Motion item was a special accessory clothing item that changed the entrance and HIO/Albatross animation of a character. Motion items also gave a set of additional bonus effects to a character, the most notable being the effect that dropped one additional item every time an item was dropped from a cup.

Taking place in the Oriens region, the course was influenced by eastern world themes with a scenic environment and beautiful nature surroundings. The Ginseng Brothers, little creatures native to Eastern Valley, could be seen playing around on the course.

An official teaser was released that showcased the course at its introduction.
